Lunching out doesn’t have to break the bank. Below you will find a selection of on the mountain and in resort lunch spots that are too good to miss. The Three Valleys has excellent food ranging from takeaway sandwiches and great value meals to gastronomic delights so you will most likely find something to suit your taste buds below.
For a real treat try one of the Michelin starred restaurants La Bouitte in Val Thorens Valley or the Michelin-worthy Le Cap Horn in Courchevel.

Where? Recently renovated and all new Jacks bar is located in front of the roundabout at the heart of La Chaudanne. As you head back down the pistes to Meribel, you will find that Jacks has a buzzing atmosphere, a lively crowd on the inside and the outside of the bar as well as the frequently played live music.
Food? Big on delicious Pizza's, Burgers and Barbeque, offers a wide range of pub classics with a twist. Stop here if you like the sound of Calamares with Korean pepper, homemade smoked garlic aioli sauce for a starter and the Bad Boy Minced beef steak burger, garnished with bacon, cheddar, lettuce, marinated tomato, candied red onion, burger relish and jalapeño chutney for the mains. The bar also serves a good selection of classic cocktails to add to the lunch.
What else? Just like the old Jack's it has lively apres with great bands and themed evenings.

Where? Ideally located at the "Rond-Point des Pistes", opposite the well known après bar "Rond Point". A great ski in ski out location makes it the perfect spot to stop off for lunch.
Food? Lilie succeeds the emblematic Bistrot de L'Orée. The Lilie provides “simple and good” homemade French cuisine! With the choice of sitting inside near cosy a fireplace to warm up or out on a beautiful sunny terrace facing the slopes.
What else? Lilie combines a bar, restaurant and local shop, all in a cozy and warm atmosphere just like at home. The central bar with a trendy spirit creates the perfect environment to taste wines, cocktails and small bites. Also Lilie houses an onsite with a fine selection of aged cheeses, fine charcuterie, homemade dishes to take away or be delivered to your home and a wine cellar full of surprises!

Where? Located underneath the Adret chairlift, just slightly higher than mid-station Rhodos, where the friendly owners Julie and Maxime have been welcoming visitors for over three years. Stop here for a hearty lunch or an outstandingly delicious hot chocolate on a panoramic terrace and enjoy the views.
Food? The menu is made up of some the Savoyard favourites such as a Tartiflette or Cuisse de Canard Confite, healthy Buddha bowls with the freshest ingredients and tasty burgers and pizzas. If you are bringing the kids, Monchu also has a children’s menu they will love. For something sweet choose from their Dessert Factory which serves fresh home-made pastries and other treats made by Monchu’s own pastry chef.
What else? After lunch, you can relax on the sofas, beds and ottomans in the huge sun terrace with live music and sleep of the lunch. Wednesday they extend their opening hours into the evening to offer an unforgettable dining experience. Once collected from Meribel Centre, you will then be escorted to the restaurant on a Snow Groomer (informally known in the UK as a Piste Basher), before being welcomed to the restaurant with an aperitif and enjoying a typical Savoyard meal. Where? It's tucked into the slopes at the foot of the Adret chairlift. Consists of the Telebar Brasserie, Cookie’s club and the bar to suit all tastes and ages. This family owned restaurant popular for its famous Escalope à la Crème, can also be accessed on foot by taking the bus Line C to the Rond Point or the Rhodos lift from La Chaudanne up to the mid station.
Food? The Telebar serves lovely Savoyard style dishes with a variety of meat and vegetarian options. The Cookie's Club offers a variety of international cuisine with a la carte, soups, varied salads, burgers or even homemade paninis and many other surprises. It is well suited for anyone looking to grab a quick bite and head back to the pistes. It’s a quick meal but still with all the quality ingredients and full of flavour.
What else? Warm yourself whatever the weather - on the huge sun terrace or in the cosy interior by the open fire surrounded by beautiful traditional décor. The bar serves a wide selection of wines from all over France.

Where? Just below Rhodos mid-station, also accessible by foot for anyone who may not want to brave the skiing back down after several drinks at the après. Take the Line C bus and get on/off at the Rond Point bus stop just 50 metres away.
Food? The food served here is fresh, flavoursome, and importantly affordable. The à la Carte menu proposes hearty winter favourites and new surprising modern delights to suit all tastes. If you only stopped for a quick bite, then head to the snack bar to refuel and get back to the pistes in no time.
What else? It has a huge sun terrace and is a very popular place for après ski. It’s a guarantee you will be entertained with live music, DJ sets and occasional stand-up comedy acts.

Where? It is located just up from the Mid-station of Saulire Express which makes it very easily accessible by foot. La Folie Douce has La Fruitière restaurant where lunches are long and in the surroundings of wacky interior with white tables and eye-catching tiled walls. Across the hallway is la Petite Cuisine where the delicious hearty meals are available at self-service in a style of a buffet. Finally, the Butcherie is where you can grab a quick bite in a style of fast-food kiosk. Nevertheless, all the food served here is delicious! Ask your chalet manager for La Petite Cuisine and Butcherie discount coupons for excellent value options.
Food? La Fruitière is overseen by chefs Arnaud Nicolas and Franck Mischler, who specialise in Savoyard dishes, based largely on beef and pork, with an emphasis on organic produce. Wine is pricey but portions are large. The Petite Cuisine has a good selection of traditional Savoyard meals, healthy salads and sweet desserts to choose from. In the Butcherie all burgers whether traditional, vegan or savoy are cooked over a wood fire and are outstandingly delicious.
What else? It’s an exquisite must-see mountain restaurant with a huge terrace and live music every day. The performance programme is highly entertaining with dancers, singers and musicians it never gets dull. If you want to go all out, the VIP area is the best spot to see the shows where you can purchase wine and champagne from an exclusive menu which is served with a personalised touch.

Where? La Terrasse is in a fantastic location at the bottom of the Lapin Piste and the Golf chairlift, at the heart of Meribel Village. Renowned for the warm and welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff and of course the beautiful view, it offers a mouth-watering selection of bold flavours and varied cuisine styles to ensure that you have a memorable lunchtime experience.
Food? With carefully sourced international ingredients, local Savoyard specialities and great value daily specials, La Terrasse is the perfect venue to refuel straight off the slopes. Try the delicious burgers, sharing plates or stop by on a Sunday and enjoy a chicken roast served with all the trimmings.
What else? A welcoming bar with cheerful atmosphere - hang around and you’ll often catch live music at après time. Grab a luxuriant home-made hot chocolate topped up with a dash of rum or try a home-made vin chaud, infused with fresh fragrant spices and laced with a naughty dose of cognac.

Where? It is situated at the bottom of the ‘Lapin’ run and the Golf chairlift, just across the Meribel Village roundabout. The Bakery is owned by the Gandy family who also own the oldest ‘Au Pain d’Antan’ in Courchevel for over 56 years. There are several establishments dotted around the Three Valleys, including Le Village des Pains.
Food? The bakery has wide range of regional breads, organic breads, and special breads all made in the traditional way. You can also grab some pastries, sandwiches and pizza any day of the season.
What else? Everything is freshly baked and you can taste their delicious produce with a coffee sitting just outside the bakery or takeaway with you to enjoy later.

Where? At 2738m elevation, on the top of the Saulire peak. As you can imagine the place has incredible views. It’s an excellent spot for lunch as you are in an easy reach of the Courchevel and Meribel valleys. Access the restaurant from Meribel, with the Saulire Express gondola, from Mottaret with the Pas du Lac gondola or from Courchevel, with the Saulire cable car.
Food? Restaurants chef, Patrice Carron, will offer you a cuisine that is both traditional and innovative, combining seasonal products, and specialities of the local region. You can rediscover Savoyard cuisine from another angle, with 320° views. You will also appreciate to find that at this altitude, they have an extensive wine list, with a large choice from all wine-growing regions, including Savoie. Likewise, if you love great wines but are the only one to drink, no problem; Les Pierres Plates offers a selection of fine wines served by the glass.
What else? Once the meal is over, you can even stay until the slopes close! Sit in our sun loungers and enjoy the mild afternoon. They provide you with throws if the weather cools. Or if you wish to regain your strength and get back to skiing quickly to optimize your time on the slopes, head straight to their lemonade terrace, discover a menu of homemade sandwiches and snacks. Where? Rue des Verdons in Courchevel 1850. If you are in Courchevel 1850 and you’re looking for excellent food for really good value, L’Arbe is cozy, centraly located restaurant with great reviews.
Food? There’s a good size menu full of traditional French dishes including six varieties of Fondue. Their dessert and ice cream menu alone is worth visiting for.
What else? Great family atmosphere and plenty of vegetarian choices.

Where? A superb restaurant next to the Courchevel Altiport. It’s reasonably priced, which can be difficult to find anywhere in Courhevel. Le Pilatus has been running for over 15 years now and is a popular lunch stop and a perfect for those in search of some authentic mountain charm. It has been decorated throughout in a traditional French Savoyard style using plenty of wooden fixtures and furnishings.
Food? Pilatus is legendary for its delicious ‘lemon pie’ dessert, not to mention the incredible ‘Carte des Grands Crus’ for the wine connoisseurs among you. The menu includes local specialities such as tartiflette and fondue as well as plenty of good quality meat dishes including duck and lamb. The approximate cost of a meal for two is €70 including wine.

Where? At the top of Loze piste and drag lift. La Soucoupe is an awesome, cozy restaurant high up in the mountains at Courchevel 1850 ski area. Stop here for a really special lunch and be prepared to lighten your wallet as prices are a bit steep, but worth the experience. Reservations are a must especially for peak times as it tends to be very crowded.
Food? In the restaurant the speciality is ribs and steaks cooked on an open log fire. The quality and size of the wine cellar is quite astounding (100 +).
What else? This is an upmarket, very high-quality mountain restaurant, very popular with the rich and famous. It has a terrific sun terrace with superb views and a beautiful interior with log fire for the cold days.

Where? Located at the bottom of the Suisses Piste, it’s set in a former mountain refuge that Eric Tournier has designed into a sea marine themed restaurant.
Food? Similarly to the décor, the fairly expensive menu is largely devoted to the sea which is exceptionally delightful at the top of a mountain including sushi and lobster dishes. You may also use the opportunity to try prestigious Wagyu steak which is the speciality at Cap Horn.
What else? Come and dine with the rich and famous and dance one the tables with your ski boots on, under the decibels propelled by a DJ perched on a piste groomer. You can also find the restaurant in the French Michelin Guide 2020.

Where? On the Verdons piste at the bottom of the Coqs chair. Friendly and authentic restaurant with large spaces, varied menu, traditional cuisine and local specialties, desserts buffet, nice wine selection. The covered and heated terrace will make it possible for you to have lunch in the open air. Inside, the restaurant room offers a view of the slopes.
Food? The dishes here include savoyarde, meat cooked on the spit, asian specialities, seafood and a famous dessert buffet. You can also request to takeaway a platter of seafood.
What else? There is a lovely sun terrace where you will often be serenaded with live music. Every wednesday evening there is a show with performers from La Folie Douce Meribel – Courchevel. For a cheaper alternative you can visit the fast-food section or grab a take-away sandwich. The restaurant also has its own 200 m2 outdoor ice rink with a valet skater.

Where? Just off the piste in 1650, follow the path to the right of L’Ours Blanc. Renowned locally for its quality service and popularity amongst seasonnaires and holiday makers alike, Le Bubble Bar is a must-visit spot for a quick lunch with a lively atmosphere.
Food? Mostly paninis and snacks (paninis are €6 and can be taken away), but you can also visit for a morning coffee, your après vin chaud or your late night jager-bomb; Le Bubble Bar will satisfy your every need throughout day and night.
What else? This place has knowledgeable and chatty staff where you can listen to stories of backflips and 1080s that may or may not have actually happened! See the link above for their events and special offers.

Where? Just off the slopes in 1650 centre, on the Rue du Marquis directly across the road from Spar supermarket. It is open 7 days a week, serving breakfast and lunch. It’s a small pub style bar with delicious food. Stop here if you’re looking to fill your tummy for less!
Food? They offer a real mixture of tasty meals, the menu changes every day with the exception of their famous burgers. Most are also available for takeaway.
What else? This is a really friendly, full of character place and a favourite amongst the locals. Expect to see (or hear from!) Cubbie, the dog. Live après music is on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Where? Located on the piste at the bottom of the Signal chair, at the heart of the slopes. The restaurant has a large terrace with excellent table service.
Food? Stop here if you like quality meat dishes as there’s a very good selection; as well as lots of choices in pizza, pasta, plat du jour and a variety of local dishes. The portions are generous, but you will also want to leave some space to try their special desserts.
What else? Recently refurbished chalet style restaurant with a sun terrace and inside seating for about 80.

Where? One of the most popular restaurants in all the 3 Valleys, Le Bel Air has a great sun terrace facing out onto the piste aligned with plenty of deck chairs in which to sit back and relax. The food is simple and yummy – plus very good value. Reservations are essential, as it gets very booked up on sunny days. Access it from the Ariondaz piste, by the Signal chair.
Food? Simple but delicious, good value food. Common recommendations here are the excellent daily plat du jour (€28) or the succulent BBQ lamb chops. Both include a simple but tasty green salad as starter. The menu also includes a varied list of wines which will suit most diners.
What else? The tiered south-facing sun terrace and a warm inviting interior with a blazing log fire in cold weather is hard to beat in any mountain restaurant in Courchevel.

Where? This authentic mountain restaurant is located at the foot of the Tovets piste in Courchevel Village. You can ski to it by heading towards the Tovets chairlift or in the evening you can use the wonderful Courchevel bus service which drops you off in 1550 about 150 metres away.
Food? This tiny little 200 year old hut with just 8 tables inside downstairs and about the same again in a recent extension upstairs, serves all kinds of stuff… as long as it can be cooked over the open fire at the end of the room. It’s not cheap with Chateaubriand at something north of €65 for two people at the high end of the main courses but it is always very good. Expect to pay around €55 a head for dinner including a bottle of local wine and the odd dessert or coffee. There’s no choice of vegetable, just potatoes and onions baked in the embers of the fire.
What else? A must for meat lovers, and with a sun terrace in a traditional Alpine setting it makes for a great skiers lunch spot!

Where? This traditional English pub is located right at the base of the Folyères and Troika pistes in the centre of La Tania, less than 30m away from the Tourist Office. In warm weather it's not hard to find, just look for the flocks of people sitting out on the terrace basking in the sunshine and topping up the tan.
Food? Here you can find really good-quality, simple food with sizeable portions at reasonable prices. The menu features pub favourites and snacks like burgers, ribs, tandoori, chili, pasta dishes, salads, jacket potatoes, sandwiches and daily specials. On the drinks side, there's beer on tap, wine, hot drinks, sodas and more. Their Happy hour from 16:00 to 18:00 is particularly popular.
What else? Lively apres-ski hot spot with live music and themed nights, as well as live sports on their four large screens, drinks promotions and internet access. The Ski Lodge is partnered with the Lodge du Village in Meribel Village and has much the same friendly and lively atmosphere.

Where? This restaurant is reached via the red run ‘Lanches’ or the blue run ‘Arolles’ and is located just next to the top station of the La Tania bubble.
Food? The food is varied and of consistent good quality. The Plat du Jour could be beef bourguignon, braised duck, roast chicken or any one of another 8 specialities – served with your choice of frites or gratin potatoes (Savoyard).
What else? They do a kids menu for €10 which includes a main course and ice-cream for dessert. Includes a choice of either Hamburger (home-made) frites, Knacki (sausages) frites or spaghetti Bolognese.

Where? This is the perfect lunch stop for hungry skiers and snowboarders, it can be found in the centre of Meribel Mottaret. Walk past the cows (you’ll see what we mean!) towards the centre and this stand is just to the right of the Sherpa supermarket. A small hole in the wall, it offers the best burgers on the mountain at a price you’re unlikely to find elsewhere in the Three Valleys. You won’t see this hidden gem advertised, its spectacular food speaks for itself and it’s a well-loved spot among locals and seasonnaires.
Food? Several variations of the legendary Mountain Burger with lashings of melted raclette cheese all for around €6. You may opt to skip your breakfast and go for an early lunch to avoid the queues and to make sure you have enough space for the burger!
What else? Famous amongst those who want a hearty meal on a budget, there is a long-standing challenge to manage two in one go!

Where? In the Châtelet area of Mottaret, at the far end of the pistes past the Plattières bubble and keep going. It is accessible from the road and by foot if you have planned your day with pedestrian activities in mind; it’s just a 10 minute walk from Lac de Tueda which has some beautiful walks! Catch the bus Line D from Meribel centre to get to Mottaret. The history of Rastro is written by the Lau family, who have developed it from generation to generation. Chris, the tallest of the three telemark champion brothers, now manages the establishment with his wife Rashi.
Food? Authentic, excellent quality and good value meals ranging from warming soup to a delicious confit du canard all at very reasonable prices.
What else? Come and discover a fun atmosphere during live concerts and themed evenings. They also do a great three course children’s menu for €8.50 and the location is ideal for children with a dedicated play area.

Where? The Côte Brune restaurant, situated right in the centre of Mottaret, is an extremely convenient place to meet friends and family for lunch.
Food? Open from 9am for coffees etc, it also has a varied lunch menu plus a large wine list to suit most tastes. Be sure to reserve your table well in advance if possible, the Côte Brune often gets extremely busy during lunch time.
What else? In the evenings here you will find a warm, intimate, and relaxed atmosphere - a perfect venue for dinner. Additionally, all dishes here are homemade on the premises.

Where? It is located at Chalet du Thorens, near the bottom of La Portette and Moraine lift. The chalet contains a full a la carte restaurant, a self-serve restaurant and the famous apres-ski Bar 360. It is the perfect spot for a quick stop where you can chill out in the sun for lunch and party in the afternoon.
Food? The restaurant serves healthy and fresh Asian Fusion style meals with Chicken or Beef and a variety of vegetarian options. The prices are very reasonable and all food is available for takeaway. Menu includes a variation of noodles, wraps, hearty homemade spicy Thai soups or warming vegetable soups all served with homemade bread or crusty baguette. Their crispy Spring Rolls served with Sweet Chilli dipping sauce is a real treat. On the side, you can also grab a homemade in-house Smoothie or Fresh Juice as well as freshly made Cookies, Muffins, Sweets and Cupcakes.
What else? There is a small area to eat inside and a sunny outside area with plenty of comfy seats. Ask about their loyalty card which allows you to have your 10th meal for free.

Where? It’s a food stand occasionally located at the top of the magic carpet in the centre of Val Thorens which serves quick meals and snacks during lunch.
Food? The fast food menu includes burgers, sandwiches and paninis to take away for roughly €5 to €8.
What else? Try the Americain – baguette with chips, burger and salad all in one!
Where? Located at the top of the Plein Sud chairlift in Val Thorens. La Folie Douce here also has La Fruitière restaurant with interior space inspired by the dairy cooperatives of yesteryear, where you can choose to enjoy your culinary experience on the panoramic terrace or under the glass roof. Just like Folie in Meribel there’s La Petite Cuisine with a wide selection of self-service meals and the corner of delicious fast food where you will be served from a piste groomer.
Food? The seasonal French cuisine in La Fruitière is served by Chef Damien de Valukhoff and his team. Dishes served include Octopus carpaccio, duck and foie gras pie, spider crab, gyozas, Savoy trout, beef cheek, Aveyron lamb shoulder… After an exquisite lunch let yourself be tempted by the desserts of Pastry Chef Alexia Fresia. There is of course la Petite Cuisine next where the delicious hearty meals are available at self-service in a style of a buffet or you can head to the Folie Food ‘Radtrack’ which serves fast food for those who wish to grab a bite and head back to the pistes.

Where? This cozy restaurant is located between Val Thorens and Les Menuires, reached via La Chasse red run that runs down to the blue Boulevard Cumin. It is not unlikely to see people arrive on snow shoes or by the many off piste runs that lead to here, which makes it quite the outdoor enthusiasts spot!
Food? The traditional essence of the restaurant is highlighted with dishes such as onion soup, crispy reblochon, almond trout, fondue and tartiflette, "croziflette" which is made from crozet pasta and reblochon gratin, etc. All of their ingredients are supplied by local producers, the mountain environment and their own alpine permaculture garden.
What else? The restaurant is very proud to be linked to its land and its roots and not only it has its own garden where the freshest produce comes from, they also have an open farm on site which was voted No 2 of the most beautiful farms in France by the site Grand Mercredi.

Where? This new exciting restaurant is ideally located right on the piste and next to the ROC 1 bubble at 2300m, which makes it the highest Italian restaurant in the 3 Valleys ski area. The restaurant is part of the Fahrenheit seven chain and as expected their interior design is something different from the traditional French.
Food? The choice is pizzas, pastas, and traditional Italian dishes which are all be prepared by their Italian kitchen team. The wine list is mainly Italian, but also has some choices closer to home. The bar offers Roc’s signature cocktails – a Bellini and Negroni.
What else? Their terrace hosts the performances of live entertainers and DJ’s so it may be likely that if you stop here for lunch, you will be tempted to spend the rest of the afternoon here! Check their website below for the programme.

Where? Maya Altitude Restaurant is located on the slopes of the best ski area in the world: The 3 Valleys. Situated at 2300 metres of altitude at the top of the Tougnète chairlift, it has a vast terrace offering a 360-degree view of the Belleville Valley and Mont Blanc.
Food? The high-end brasserie-style menu was created by Christophe Dupuy, the Executive Chef of Maya Collection, in collaboration with the Michelin-starred chef Akrame. With a focus on Savoyard specialities, you can choose the cooking method for your dish between the charcoal grill or the Tandoor oven, two exceptional cooking techniques, unheard of on snowy slopes and at this altitude.
What else? The cosy and colourful Himalayan and Tibetan-inspired decor was entrusted to Hong Kong architect Sylvestre Murigneux, who has worked on many of the Collection's projects, including the Refuge de la Traye. With a capacity of up to 300 diners, Maya Altitude's dining room is distinguished by the presence of an imposing Charcoal Grill, a butcher's block and a maturing cellar for meats.

Where? A truly fabulous restaurant in the ancient village square right opposite the church.
Food? La Voute is renowned for both quality and exceptional value, especially their 2-course lunch menu at around €19.00. Delicious home made desserts too from €7.50.

Where? Conveniently located at the St Martin 2 chairlift, this is a very relaxing spot for a good value mountain lunch.
Food? Le Corbeleys also features some tasty traditional specialities of the house around €16.00.
What else? A most delightful small and traditional family restaurant. It has a warm rustic interior and a very charming sun terrace. Le Corbeleys (Chalet D’alpage) was originally built way back in 1865 and became a restaurant in 1985.

Where? You will find this characteristic restaurant three-quarters of the way down the piste to the old village at 1450m, tucked in between the houses on the right-hand side. The restaurant has been established in the 90’s in an old farm stable. The interior is exactly what you imagine a French Savoy restaurant should be.
Food? Great value nouvelle cuisine with excellent presentation. Some of the signature dishes are Veal sweetbreads with winter vegetables and Basmati rice, Filet of beef in a wine sauce with Pont Neuf potatoes and winter vegetables, and Lamb Ballotine with local honey served with polenta.
What else? This is a delightful, cosy restaurant with a real home-from-home feel, well worth a visit. Mentioned in the Michelin Guide 2016.

Where? To arrive at the restaurant follow Le Biolley piste to the bottom of St Martin then call the restaurant who will come to collect you (it is in fact located in Le Hameau de St Marcel). This place will provide with an unforgettable culinary experience for a very special occasion. Alternatively, you can visit the Simple & Meilleur bistro which also has a lounge and tapas bar.
Food? To encourage the use of fresh produce and seasonal ingredients Réné and Maxime offer you different menus which will be described to you when you arrive.

Where? It’s situated at the bottom of Le Biolley piste in St Martin where you can stop to grab a simple delicious lunch for under €20.
Food? The menu includes a mixture of good pub food, with one of the most popular being their excellent veggie burger (for about €10).
