Equipment hire and lessons
There are numerous Ski and Snowboard hire companies based in Meribel but we would like to recommend one in particular, Freeski, due to their excellent service, high-quality equipment and great discounts for Ski Basics guests.
We strongly advise you to order your ski equipment prior to your holiday. Not only will this maximise your all-important ski time but also secure you substantial discounts of up to 35%.
We encourage all our customers to pre-book their equipment online, to do this simply go to www.meribel-ski-rental.com and select SKI BASICS as your Tour Operator and you will automatically receive the discount offer.
FreeSki will also be offering a Minibus service for travel to the Shop upon arrival and the End of the week gear pick up from the Chalet with no extra charge.
Delivery service
Whilst booking online, you can select for your equipment to be delivered straight to the chalet. A ski technician will come at a time that suits you to ensure everything fits and make any necessary adjustments. This added extra will have a small supplementary charge of 15€ for the first client and then an extra 10€ for each additional person. FreeSki Refund Policy
We understand the difficulty of making decisions during these uncertain times and want our customers to feel confident in reserving rental equipment with FreeSki.
FreeSki will give a full refund to all our guests who cancels their reservation more than 24 hours in advance without any supporting documents required. In addition, except for deliveries, only 25% deposit (instead of 100% in the past) will be required when booking online. The balance can be paid at the shop.
Sanitary standards
To protect clients, our team welcomes you all throughout the winter in compliance with sanitary protocols: systematically disinfected equipment, gel available and masks worn in the shop.

If you want some expert advice or want to choose from a bigger range of snowboards in particular, we recommend the Avalon Board shop. It’s located straight across the road from Freeski and has been the Three Valleys riders favourite since 1993. The shop offers a wide range of premium snowboarding equipment and clothing as well.
If your uncomfortable Ski Boots are affecting your holiday experience and your performance on the slopes, we would also like to recommend a Ski Boot Fitting service at the Boot Lab in Meribel - Best in all of the Three Valleys!
We advise this service if you suffer from any pain, numbness or discomfort when skiing. You can take your own ski boots for an individualised fitting or find a perfect pair for your feet in store. The services offered include a professional assessment of your feet, heat moulding the boot insoles and liners and integrating boot heaters. Their Boot fitting service comes with a guarantee, allowing you to come back to the shop time after time ensuring a perfect fit. Well known throughout France, the ESF has a great school in Meribel, comprising over 450 instructors the majority of whom speak excellent English. They have lots of modern equipment including snow-play areas for the little ones and slalom stadiums for the competitive!
