For many Ski Basics seasonaires, one winter in Meribel simply isn’t enough.

We asked members of this year’s team to share some of their favourite memories from life in the Three Valleys. Here, Isabel reflects on returning for a second season, unforgettable adventures in the mountains, and the friendships that made Meribel feel like home.

Returning for a Second Season in Meribel

My time working with Ski Basics as a chalet host has genuinely been one of the best experiences of my life, so much so that I came back for a second.

Life as a Chalet Host in Meribel

Working in Chalet Bouquetin and Chalet Hermine taught me so much, from building confidence and independence to creating unforgettable memories with some incredible people who quickly became lifelong friends.

For many Ski Basics seasonaires, one winter in Meribel simply isn’t enough.Every day in Meribel felt like an adventure, whether it was hosting guests, skiing with the team, or just soaking up the atmosphere in the mountains.

Parapenting Above the Mountains

One of the biggest highlights for me was parapenting over Meribel. Floating high above the snowy mountains with the most unreal views all around was both terrifying and exciting at the same time, but once I was up there it felt so peaceful. Seeing Meribel from above is something I will never forget, and it is definitely one of those once in a lifetime experiences that made the season so special.

The Famous “Charcuteski” Picnic

Another memory that perfectly sums up Ski Basics for me was our mountain picnic as a team. Ski Basics really does feel like a family, and everyone is so good at organising fun group events that bring everyone together. My favourite had to be our picnic on the slopes, where in true chalet host style we made charcuterie boards on our skis which we proudly called a “charcuteski.” The sun was shining, the music was on, and everyone was laughing and enjoying the moment together.

For many Ski Basics seasonaires, one winter in Meribel simply isn’t enough. It was one of those simple but perfect afternoons that reminded me how lucky I was to spend a season living and working in the mountains surrounded by such amazing people.

Memories to last a lifetime

From unforgettable mountain adventures to simple afternoons spent laughing together on the slopes, Isabel’s story captures exactly what makes a Ski Basics season so special.

Every winter brings new experiences, new friendships and memories that last far beyond the season itself. Read more of our seasonaire stories to discover what life in Meribel is really like with Ski Basics.
